Equalizer uses intelligent load balancing algorithms to distribute traffic to the most appropriate server based on user defined parameters. These include traffic prioritized by TCP or UDP ports or a combination of destination address and destination port number. This ensures that critical applications always receive the appropriate priority.
To guarantee even higher levels of availability the Equalizer appliance can be configured in a fault tolerant configuration with a redundant Equalizer appliance as a backup in hot standby.
